ATF Waco BBQ T-Shirt
Sometimes we need reminders to help us never forget. This irreverent shirt is meant to be one of those reminders that even our government has grossly over reached its intended power at the cost of American lives. Never forget the massacre at Waco, Texas. Regardless of their odd religious practices and alleged crimes, the burning to death of 76 Americans, including 25 children and 2 pregnant women is inexcusable.
The Branch Davidians, led by a charismatic leader, David Koresh were suspected of stockpiling weapons and ammunition. Although many would label this apocalyptic religious group as a cult who lived communally and reportedly practiced polygamy. Additional reports from the Waco Tribune Herald brought statutory rape allegations agains Koresh which was used by the ATF to paint the group as dangerous extremists.
The incident began when the ATF attempted to serve a search and arrest warrant on the ranch. An intense gunfight erupted, resulting in the deaths of four government agents and six Branch Davidians. Upon the ATF's entering of the property and failure to execute the search warrant, a siege lasting 51 days was initiated by the FBI. Eventually, the FBI launched an assault and initiated a tear gas attack in an attempt to force the Branch Davidians out of the ranch. Shortly thereafter, the Mount Carmel Center became engulfed in flames. The fire resulted in the deaths of 76 Branch Davidians, including 25 children, two pregnant women, and David Koresh himself.
